We have extensive outdoor space with separate garden areas for all three rooms. We have an allotment area where we plant and grow our own vegetables. We have a forest school changing shed and sand shed that promotes children’s learning and development skills and independence in preparation for school readiness.

We are lucky enough to have our own forest school area that is on our site and we follow a forest school approach where children regularly attend forest sessions with trained and knowledgeable practitioners. The forest school is one of our main setting development areas in that we aim to but in the forest as much as possible and to eventually have all practitioners’ forest school trained. We aim to work towards an official forest school/Beach school accreditation.

In our forest school area, we also have chickens and goats and sheep and the children can visit daily. We do not allow the children to have physical contact with the animals but they are very much part of our nursery family.
